Joan McNichol, Ed.D.

Dr. McNichol has worn many hats throughout her career in educational leadership, including Director of Student Life and Services, Affirmative Action Officer, Liaison to Homeless Families, Peer Leadership Coordinator, and Anti-Bullying Coordinator. Through these roles, she became a dedicated advocate for students and families and developed a deep understanding of the growing challenges of bullying and cyberbullying.

Her 2023 published research, Has Anyone Asked the Parents? What Parents Want, Need, and Are Willing to Do to Prevent Bullying, highlights the critical role parents play in prevention and intervention efforts.

Dr. McNichol currently develops and implements community programming that strengthens connections between families, schools, and communities.

In 2025, she published her first children’s book, The Story of Elizabeth Blossom: New Jersey’s Own Pilgrim, reflecting both her passion for education and her deep New Jersey roots. While she values her professional roles, her most cherished title is grandmother to four, a role that continues to inspire her work every day.
