Kalisha Smith, LCSW



Kalisha is a New Jersey licensed clinical social worker, a NJ certified social work clinical
supervisor, and a licensed minister. She is committed to helping people be empowered to live in
their place of spiritual, physical, and emotional purpose. Kalisha has been privileged to work in
the social service profession for the past 19 years. Throughout her professional career, she has
worked with people experiencing acute mental health concerns, survivors and perpetrators of
intimate partner violence, as well as youth and families in crisis through the NJ Children’s
System of Care.

Kalisha serves as a clinical consultant with the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide where
she provides training on the continuum of prevention to school districts and community
clinicians. Kalisha also services as a volunteer community trainer for AFSP NJ.

Kalisha is the owner of Wise Counsel Services which offers individual, family, and group
therapy services for adolescents and adults with a faith-based emphasis for those that welcome
spirituality into their journey. Through Wise Counsel Services, Kalisha provides trainings n an
array of topics including Suicide Prevention, Parenting Skills and Support, and the Intersection
of Faith and Mental Health Services.
Kalisha is married to her Howard University sweetheart, Rev. Jerrold W. Smith Jr, pastor of
HOPE Church in Bound Brook, NJ. Together they parent 5 awesome daughters: Kayla, Kennedi,
Kamryn, Kyndall, and KaiLee.
